This site is dedicated to the memory of Garnie.
Mrs Clarice Howorth (nee Garnett) fondly known as Garnie was born in Yorkshire on February 27, 1926. She left her comfortable life in Yorkshire at the tender age of 25 in 1951 and dedicated 30 years of her life educating young girls at Wesley Girls High School in Ghana.
A mighty tree has fallen and we are thankful for the fruits of her sacrifice, dedication and love.
Garnie is much loved and will always be remembered by all her girls, friends and family.

Can any one person have such a profound effect on the lives of so many people? Garnie is remembered by many and not only those who attended our School. She lighted a candle in each of our little souls and we didn't even realize this had happened. We just thought we had attended a very good school. The ripples of her effect on us can be felt amongst our families and friends.
Garnie's life should be an example to us all. Wherever you work, fellowship or socialize light a candle that motivates, encourages and mentors. Remember to want to be the one of whom affectionate stories would be told.
Garnie, much admired, much respected, much loved and forever in our hearts.

Candles
Thank you so much for selecting me after the common entrance to go to WGHS. My dad had to change his mind about which was the best school in the country after all when he saw my output.
